2 nights - South Coast - Aliwal Shoal
Durban’s South coast boasts some of the best waves and beaches in Durban, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Your accommodation just a few steps away from the beach where you will be surrounded by indigenous bush, vibrant bird life and visiting monkeys.

Optional activities:
Dive the world famous Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks reefs, Whale and Dolphin watching boat trip or visit the local Croc World.

2 nights – Port Shepstone
Port Shepstone not only offers great surf and white sand beaches but it is the perfect stop off on the way to the Wild Coast. Your accommodation is in a 4 star hostel, 2 minutes away from the beach. Here you have a spectacular view from your balcony where you can take a relaxing bath or chill out in your hammock overlooking the jungle garden.

Optional activities:
Take a microlight flight along the coast of Port Shepstone or get adventurous at Oribi Gorge, the spectacular forest-cloaked ravine of the Mzimkulwana River. The Oribi Gorge offers activities such as water rafting, the wild slide, the wild swing, and abseiling.

7 nights – Wild Coast (Transkei)
The Wild Coast offers world class waves and beaches, and is another favourite destination of the Mud Hut Tribe.

When you are out in the Transkei Ocean you then know you are surrounded by Africa. Things here are the way they used to be all over South Africa, where culture is strong, living is simple and the locals are in high spirits. The untouched land makes for a picturesque view while chilling on the beach, fishing on the river or having sundowners on the river bank right on the doorstep.

Your accommodation is Mud Hut style like never before. It is built entirely by the local Xhosa community and looks straight into the eye of a perfect wave. During your stay you and your party will have exclusive use of the accommodation.

Here, your guide (who is by now your surf buddy) will take you to several surf breaks and secret beaches along the Wild Coast as well as visit craft markets and local shops.

The Wild Coast is a Xhosa community made up of many tribes. During your stay you will experience the way the Xhosa people live and you will learn all about their culture and beliefs.

You will experience an evening of Xhosa drumming, drink local beer and depending on the timing of your visit, you can witness the traditional Xhosa slaughtering of livestock.

For the fishermen amongst you, the Wild Coast is home to some fantastic fishing, and your guide's local knowledge will ensure you have the best chance of getting the catch of the day. There is river, surf and boat based fishing from the accommodation in the Transkei.

1 night - Durban
Durban offers a great night life with excellent restaurants, pubs and clubs. You will stay in Durban’s best B&B, we will point you in the right direction and then let you do pretty much whatever you feel like for the night, whether it is climbing into bed after a great meal or finding out what Durban’s night life is all about!

1 night - Imfolozi Game Reserve
The next morning we travel to the Imfolozi / Hluhluwe Game Reserve, which is the oldest reserve in South Africa famous for the big 5 and for saving the Rhino from the brink of extinction. We will take you on a game drive in the morning, have lunch out in the wild and then have a guided night drive to experience the Big 5 once the sun goes down.

Your accommodation will be in the tented camps in Imfolozi which are large, en-suite tents on stilts with a deck overlooking the wildlife.

Transfer back to the Durban International Airport for your flight home or to another Mud Hut destination.

Every morning our guides will be on hand to advise you of what the conditions are doing and where the best waves will be breaking, depending on your ability of course. The more inexperienced surfer will benefit from having our guides on hand to assist them on all levels. For those days when the surf doesn’t co-operate we’ll always have a list of activities or attractions on the agenda to ensure that your trip to our stunning land is a memorable one.

Hailing from surfing backgrounds, and having travelled extensively along the South African coastline and abroad, our surf tour guides are highly experienced and extremely knowledgable when it comes to matters of finding the best possible waves.

Surfing Equipment
If you don’t have any surfing equipment, don’t worry! All surfboards, wetsuits and surfing equipment can be arranged by us and will be ready and waiting for you when you arrive. Please notify us in advance so that all arrangements and orders can be made. This is a very cost-affective option, plus you’ll benefit from having surfboards shaped to suit conditions found along the beautiful coastline!
