Day 1: Durban – Umhlanga
Upon arrival at Durban International Airport, a representative will meet and assist you to the car rental depot. Collect your Group V (Toyota Verso or similar) rental vehicle and mobile rental phone and make your way to the Umhlanga – a seaside town. Your hotel is located within walking distance from the beach and within 5-minutes drive from Gateway Shopping Centre home to various shops, restaurants and entertainment. Overnight at the 3 star Protea Hotel Umhlanga.

Day 2: Umhlanga
Spend the day at leisure enjoying fun in the sun on the beach or visiting Gateway Shopping Centre. Overnight at the 3 star Protea Hotel Umhlanga.

Day 3: Umhlanga – Hluhluwe
Travel approximately 2 ½ -3 hours overland to your hotel located between the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve and iSimangaliso Wetland Park (formerly known as St Lucia Greater Wetland Park). En route we recommend a stop over at Shakaland Cultural Village for a tour and traditional lunch. Whilst at Shakaland, feel the pulsating rhythm of mysterious and magical Africa; experience the sight of assegaai-wielding warriors; share the fascinating secrets of the Sangomas and witness traditional customs such as tribal dancing, spear making and the beer drinking ceremonies before tucking into a lunch time feast. Continue traveling and depending on time of arrival at your hotel, embark on an open vehicle game drive in Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight at the 3 star Protea Hotel Hluhluwe & Safaris.

Day 4: Hluhluwe
Spend today in Hluhluwe including a morning or afternoon open vehicle game drive in Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. Overnight at the 3 star Protea Hotel Hluhluwe & Safaris.

Day 5: Hluhluwe – Mkuze
If you were unable to embark on an afternoon game drive on Day 3, embark on a game drive this morning in Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. We recommend a stop over at iSimangaliso Wetland Park where you can embark on a boat cruise on Lake St Lucia. From this vantage point you could possibly spot crocodiles, hippos and various bird species. Continue traveling to your overnight inn located close to the town of Mkuze. Spend the afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the 3 star Ghost Mountain Inn.

Day 6: Mkuze
Spend today at Ghost Mountain Inn enjoying all the optional activities on offer, available from the inn, including game drives, hiking trails, a cultural experience and more. Tennis courts and mountain bikes are also available for guests’ use as well as a games room offering a pool, table tennis and darts. Overnight at the 3 star Ghost Mountain Inn.

Day 7: Mkuze – Durban
Travel approximately 3 – 3 ½ hours back to Durban. Your tour ends on arrival at Durban International Airport.
