Clients are collected at approximately 6.30am from their respective hotels in Victoria Falls for an hours game drive in an open vehicle to a remote area of the magnificent Zambezi National Park.
The professional walking guide will give a safety talk before walking off into the bush tracking game by foot, while also pointing out some of the finer details of the African bush.
A light Continental Breakfast with tea and coffee is served in the morning.
After the mornings walk clients meet the vehicle and enjoy a game drive to the rivers canoe launch site.
The guide will give a thorough briefing, which will cover conditions of the river and rapids, canoeing instruction, safety and general information.
A picnic lunch of cold meats, rolls, quiches, salads and fruit is served on the mainland or an island.
The afternoon is spent canoeing (approximately 8 kms) downstream, running small grade one and two rapids, exploring Sansimba channels and bird and game viewing.
At the end of the afternoon clients will arrive in camp in time for tea. Camping equipment, drinks and dinner are all included. (See Important Information, accommodation)
In the morning a full English breakfast is served, after which clients will game drive upstream again to launch their canoes. The second morning is spent canoeing a different section of the river from the day before, including Sansimba Rapids. The Zambezi River is incredibly wide and there are numerous vastly different routes to take. In the afternoon the group will once again set off on foot rather than canoe for an afternoon walk.
The third day usually begins with an early morning walk returning to camp for breakfast. The canoes are then launched from camp and the last day is spent canoeing an 18km stretch towards Victoria Falls, including the Kandahar Rapids.
Clients are transferred back to Victoria Falls at 4.00pm.
