Take in the best of the southern countries – Drakensberg mountains, Pony trekking in highlands of Lesotho, visit mystical Swaziland, the tropical waters of the Natal north coast, the Kruger Park, and Hluluwe – famous for its Rhino conservation project. So much to see and do in two weeks. Highlight of the trip?? A drink in the highest pub in Africa!

Starting in Johannesburg in an anti-clockwise circular loop, this trip is one of the easier 4x4 routes. The terrain is not nearly as demanding as some of the other routes in the region, and you will never be too remote - most of the trails are popular amongst the local 4x4 community.

The route has some of the most spectacular and diverse scenery that you could hope to find. From snow-capped peaks in Lesotho to warm sandy beaches of northern Natal; From the lush mountains of Swaziland to the wilderness areas of Kruger – don’t forget your camera on this trip - a photographers dream.

This safari includes overnight pony trekking in the Lesotho highlands on local Basotho ponies and a trip up and over the famous Sani Pass (and grab a drink at the highest pub in Africa!!). Lesotho has some incredibly rugged scenery and you will be taken along scenic drives to remote dams and over steep passes.

Heading back into South Africa, you head to St Lucia Estuary and Cape Vidal. Enjoy exploring the remote coastline, some good fishing, birdwatching and good game on offer. When the water is clear, Cape Vidal is one of the best sites for snorkelling in South Africa.

Next stop on your safari is the Hluluwe game reserve for a couple of nights. The facilites are excellent and only surpassed by the superb game viewing. The Hluluwe-Umfolozi Park is largely responsible for the Rhino's recovery from extinction in southern Africa.

You then head northwards into Swaziland and spend the evening in the scenic and mountainous Mkhaya Game Reserve.

To end the trip off you head back into South Africa for 3 nights in South Africa's Premier game area - the Kruger National Park. The abundance and diversity of game is legendary and the varied terrain adds a wonderful backdrop. A great way to end the trip before you return to Johnanesburg.
